Aleksandar (Alex) Stojicevic, B.A., LL.B. The managing partner of Maynard Kischer Stojicevic, Aleksandar Stojicevic holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with honours in Political Science from the University of Calgary (1991) and a Law Degree from the University of British Columbia (1994). After eight years with McCrea and Associates in Vancouver, he and Gordon Maynard established the firm of Maynard & Stojicevic in December of 2002 in the Yaletown area of Vancouver, British Columbia. Rudolf Kischer joined the firm in October of 2005. Mr. Stojicevic has been an Executive of the CBA (BC) Immigration Section branch since 2003 and in 2004 was elected as a Table Officer with the National CBA Immigration Law Section. He currently sits as Treasurer of the Section and is incoming Vice-Chair. Dedicated to the mentoring goals of the CLE program in British Columbia, Mr. Stojicevic has been a faculty member for the past six of the past seven years for the provincial Immigration Continuing Legal Education Society Immigration CLE seminar, and for the past six years for the CBA (BC) Immigration CLE, lecturing on a variety of topics. He has contributed articles to a number of immigration related publications and has also lectured on immigration issues for a number of NGO’s. Mr. Stojicevic’s practice is limited to Immigration and Citizenship law and closely related matters such as Customs and Extradition. He has a varied practice involving clients before all three divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, Federal Court, Federal Court Appeal and the Provincial Court of British Columbia. Mr. Stojicevic advises the human resources department of a number of companies, non-profit organizations and several large education institutions in British Columbia on foreign worker related matters. His practice also involves filing a broad range of economic class applications, humanitarian and compassionate applications, refugee claims, pre-removal risk assessment applications, temporary resident permit applications. Most recently, he has had a concentration on Provincial Nominee Program applications. Outside of law, Mr. Stojicevic’s pursuits include being a member of the Executive (and later President) of the Canadian Serbian Unity Congress (BC branch) from 1996-2001, as well as being a founding member of the BC Ethno-Cultural Council. Practicing law since 1990, Gordon is experienced in all facets of Canadian immigration law. For the past 10 years Rudolf has focused on advising businesses both domestic and international on how to meet their human resources needs from an international talent pool. Rudolf also works with investors and entrepreneurs looking to immigrate to Canada and to gain permanent resident status. He has appeared frequently before the Federal Court and the Immigration Board. He recently represented 2600 applicants in the first class action law suit before the Federal Court of Canada. Rudolf has been interviewed on international television, radio and newspapers regarding Canadian Immigration issues. He has presented several papers at bar association seminars.
